How the number is calculated

Repeat purchase rate = customers with 2+ orders ÷ all customers. The calculator removes duplicate line-item rows, drops cancelled and refunded orders, and groups orders by email, which avoids the most common mistakes. More in our repeat purchase rate guide.

What to do with it

Track it every month. If it rises, your product and post-purchase experience are working. To push it up, time reminders to your reorder cycle (see the churn window tool) and send win-back emails to customers drifting away. WinBack shows this number for any date range inside Shopify.

Questions

What is the repeat purchase rate formula?
Customers with two or more paid orders, divided by all customers with at least one paid order. The calculator groups orders by email address, so guest checkouts by the same person count once.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. The file is never sent to a server.
Why is my rate lower than I expected?
Often because the file includes many recent first-time buyers who have not had time to come back yet. Try an export that ends a few months ago, or compare the rate for customers who joined in different months.
What counts as an order?
Paid and partially refunded orders. Cancelled, refunded, voided, pending and expired orders are left out, as are orders without an email.
